DIY ☀ Dainty Necklaces

Coming back with a DIY! Love love love all the dainty necklaces around and how well they layer with each other and other necklaces. I wanted to give some a try and for practice sake, I didn't go out of my way to get too fancy. I used whatever I had sitting in my supplies and they didn't turn out half bad! For future reference I learned two things, smaller jump rings are something you'll want to use, and I could have gone even thinner/smaller on the chain. Though that's not due to a lack of trying, I haven't come across thin chain in abundance yet, I guess I'll have to keep looking!
For this DIY you will need:
  • small jump rings
  • thin chain
  • clasps
  • jewelry pliers
  • pendants/embellishments (optional)
1. Lay out and measure your chain to the length that you want it. I used another necklace as a guide, it's also helpful to test it out on your neck to see where it will fall. Cut the chain with the jewelry pliers.

2. Open up two jump rings and attach one to either ends of the chain. Attach your clasp to one jump ring and close them all up! There you have one simple chain necklace, nice and easy, they will look something like this ↡

3. Using the same steps, keep making other necklaces at different lengths. In the one pictured below I slid a tube bead on the chain, closed the ends with jump rings and a clasp and that's it!

On one necklace I made a makeshift pendant out of some spare chain and a jump ring  ↡
I hate letting materials go to waste heh

I ended up with four very simple, dainty necklaces that can be paired in any way you can think up.

Here are some ways I thought they looked cute

And in a few of these pictures, I paired them with some gold and other necklaces I've bought.

This DIY was fun, easy and I will definitely be giving these another go when I get different materials!
Hope you liked them too!

  1. I love this idea. I think this type of necklace, the one with multiple chanins would also look lovely over a top with a higher neckline, I've just always loved the way that looks! Anyways I just wanted to let you know that I've nominated you for the Leibster Award over on my blog! I hope you can participate! Let me know if you can!
