Halloween

Hey there! I know Halloween has passed, but I decided to share some photos I took before leaving so they weren't a total waste. My costume was half put together the night before Halloween and half the day of. Which is very not like me, I love this occasion, I am always prepared, but not this year.
I managed to throw together this outfit which is half things from my closet and half made by me. Making a costume is really 80 percent of the fun for me, so I had to make something! I went to Fabric Fabric and browsed through the endless possibilities, I ended up buying the red silky fabric that I made my dress from, some black of the same material, and then some red chiffon that I never ended up using due to lack of time, but am definitely going to use for something in the future! Since it was a quickie costume, I made the upper half by hot-gluing the fabric to an old balconette bra, and the black fabric to the straps. Then I made a maxi skirt out of the rest of the fabric that buttons at the back, so technically they are two pieces. I wanted a dress so I used the thick studded belt to hide where the top and bottoms meet. The rest of the costume is pretty much an assortment of all the accessories I have that I thought would make me look halloween...ish. This year I guess I didn't end up being something specific, but at the end of the day it's still fun to dress up and I did just that. My six year old self would kick me in the shins for ever passing on a chance to dress up, especially on Halloween.

Did any of you dress up for Halloween, if so, what did you go as!?

  2. Your outfit is really pretty, it's the type of thing that could be used for other occasions too! I went as a fairy but tbh I wish I could be a magical fairy everyday. :(
